The main part of this year’s sixteenth Migrant Film Festival, organized by Slovene Philanthropy, took place from September 22 to 26 in Ljubljana, with several screenings held over the summer. A total of 24 films from 21 countries were shown in Ljubljana and 12 other Slovenian towns: Črnomelj, Koper, Kranj, Logatec, Ljutomer, Maribor, Metlika, Murska Sobota, Postojna, Ptuj, Puconci, and Žalec.

The festival addressed current stories related to the genocide in Palestine, women in migration, forced returns, and corporate greed. Through films and guest contributions, it encouraged reflection on contemporary migration policies and offered a different perspective on people who were forced to leave their homes due to war, human rights violations, poverty, or other reasons.
