Online report: Sexualised torture at Russian detention camp

Missed Calls from Kherson

The International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) organises an online report on Russian sexualised torture at a temporary detention facility in Kherson, Ukraine. The report documents the systemic use of sexual violence, including genital electrocution with military field telephones, at one of Kherson’s largest torture sites—Detention Centre No. 1 where 400 to 500 civilians were unlawfully held. Based on 59 survivor testimonies gathered during 12 fact-finding missions by IPHR and partners, the report provides detailed legal analysis and personal accounts that shed light on the scale and nature of these crimes.

The report will be presented in English and Ukranian and will be moderated by Svitlana Valko, Ukraine Program Manager at IPHR.

Panel speakers:

Oksana Pokalchuk, Senior Adviser on CRSV at IPHR, Co Executive Director at Truth Hounds;
Mariam Bezhanishvili, Legal Officer at IPHR;
Anastasiya Donets, Lead of Ukraine Legal Team at IPHR;
Oleksandr Kleshchenko, Representative of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

When: Monday 12 May at 15:00 CET on Zoom.
