Language: English

28th, 29th and 30th of August 2026, Stone Theatre of the Faraglioni Archeological Village (Ustica, Italy) - APPLICATION DEADLINE: 27th July 2026

Pro Loco Ustica APS, a social promotion association based on the island of Ustica (Italy), is organising and promoting the first edition of the Ustica Mediterranean Performing Arts Festival — a new international festival dedicated to contemporary performing arts and cultural exchange.

The Festival will take place on 28, 29 and 30 August 2026 at the Stone Theatre of the Faraglioni Archaeological Village, a historic open-air venue recognised as one of Sicily's most distinctive Stone Theatres.

The Festival was created to foster meaningful dialogue between cultural heritage and contemporary artistic creation, exploring themes such as identity, memory, migration, landscape, the environment and intercultural exchange across Mediterranean cultures. It welcomes projects from a wide range of disciplines including theatre, dance, performance art, live music, physical theatre, contemporary circus, spoken word and site-specific performance.

Through this Open Call, artists, companies and collectives of all nationalities — both emerging and established — are invited to apply to present their work. Selected participants will receive accommodation, round-trip hydrofoil transport from Sicily, and promotion through the Festival's official communication channels. Three projects will additionally receive an Artistic Support Award in recognition of artistic excellence.
