Short Initiatives (SI) projects are short-term projects that aim to explore, build and deepen academic/scientific collaborations among diverse teams of academics and researchers. SI projects focus on sustainable development challenges and are able to realise objectives within the limited timespan of a maximum of 2 years.

Who can partner up? Flemish promoter: professor/specialist employed at a Flemish university or a professor/lecturer at a Flemish university of applied sciences and arts. Partner promoter: employed at a recognised higher education institution or national public (not for profit) research institute located in a VLIRUOS project partner country. (for the Euromed region only Palestine and Morocco are eligible)

Deadline for submission to VLIRUOS: 20 February 2025

Start of the project: 1 September 2025

Duration of the project: max. 2 years

Budget: 70.000 euros
