Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), in partnership with Izdihar Tech, successfully concluded the Hebron AI Hackathon last week, organized by the Programming Academy at the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Engineering. The event took place in Hebron, Palestine, bringing together students and young innovators in an intensive, hands-on environment.

The hackathon gathered over 200 participants forming 70 teams, who worked over a full day to develop AI-based solutions addressing real challenges in the city. Participants utilized advanced tools, including AI coding platforms, and received mentorship from academic and industry experts.

The initiative aimed to strengthen practical skills, foster innovation, and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and labor market needs, particularly in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. It also reflected PPU’s commitment to empowering youth and promoting entrepreneurship through applied learning experiences.

Participants benefited from collaboration, technical training, and exposure to real-world problem-solving, while top teams were awarded cloud credits to support further development of their projects.

This hackathon contributed to reinforcing Hebron’s position as an emerging hub for technological innovation and youth-driven initiatives.
