Anyone Who Feeds On Majesty Becomes Eloquent

An Exhibition of Contemporary African Art

The exhibition "How to Feed on Majesty to Become Eloquent" explores the transformative power of art to shift our perception of the world. It brings together artists from sub-Saharan Africa who explore themes of land, water, light, and time as interconnected forces shaped by ritual, memory, and place. These elements are not just subjects but active collaborators in the artistic process, challenging Euro-modern frameworks by grounding their work in indigenous wisdom and ecological harmony.

Inspired by Rumi’s concept of Sohbet, a mystical conversation based on presence and communion, this gallery transforms into a space of exchange and reflection. Themes such as time, grief, grace, and decay become active agents in the creative process, urging audiences to slow down, listen, and recognize the deep ties between culture, land, and imagination. The exhibition invites reflection on more interconnected and caring ways of living together, using art as both a mirror and a channel to engage with the forces that sustain life.
