In response to the needs of displaced Palestinian families in Egypt, Zimam for Creativity and Development, in partnership with World Wide Orphans, launched the RISE (Shorouq) project to provide psychosocial and educational support for children affected by the war in Gaza.
The initiative creates a safe, structured environment where children can learn, play, and participate in interactive activities that foster emotional well-being, resilience, and social connection. Through the dedication of local volunteers and specialists, the project helps restore a sense of normalcy while supporting children and their parents in coping with the psychological and social challenges of displacement and prolonged uncertainty.
With thousands of Palestinians remaining stranded in Egypt following the closure of the Rafah border crossing, the project responds to urgent needs that extend beyond emergency assistance. By prioritizing education, mental health, and child protection, RISE contributes to preserving childhood and strengthening families' ability to adapt to difficult circumstances.
Through community-based support, volunteer engagement, and inclusive learning opportunities, the initiative demonstrates how grassroots action can promote hope, dignity, and resilience. Zimam remains committed to expanding these efforts and ensuring that displaced Palestinian children access safe spaces where they can heal, learn, and look toward the future with confidence.
