Rural Communities for Open Elections

Language: English

October N.Macedonia

During October, the Rural Coalition, within the framework of the project “Rural Communities for Open and Accountable Elections”, financed by the European Union through the project “EU Support for the Civic Resource Center – Phase 2,” organized four open dialogues in rural areas.

These dialogues engaged local residents in discussions about the importance of civic activism during the electoral process, the practice of local democracy through exercising the right to vote, as well as citizen engagement after the elections in monitoring the fulfilment of pre-election promises made by mayors.

Additionally, throughout October, a guerrilla action was carried out to raise citizens’ awareness about participation in local democracy, which included local community meetings, distribution of promotional materials, and the production of an educational video.
