From 29 September to 2 October 2025, the 2nd edition of the UfM Med Youth Lab gathered 58 young leaders from 14 Euro-Mediterranean countries in Tirana, Albania, to exchange ideas and develop solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable region. Among the initiatives presented was “Seeds of the Future,” a project focused on reconnecting young people with sustainable agriculture and supporting communities affected by climate change. The project encourages youth to learn from experienced farmers while promoting environmental awareness and local resilience.

Anxhela, the only participant from Albania, joined the program seeking an opportunity to contribute to meaningful change. Together with fellow participants Kenz, Nermeen, Oğulcan, and Sylvie, she co-developed the project idea based on their shared commitment to climate adaptation and community engagement. Their work was later recognized with the Youth and Climate Adaptation winner award.

The UfM Med Youth Lab was organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), with the support of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), in partnership with the Anna Lindh Foundation, the European Institute of the Mediterranean, and the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes and supported by the Albanian Ministry of State for Youth and Children and the National Youth Agency.
