The Anna Lindh Foundation Swedish network member, the Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa (SDI) will host its Fourth Interactive Annual Conference, titled “Shaping Shared Futures: Inclusive Peace and Sustainable Development between Europe and the MENA Region” in Amman on 26 - 27 November 2025.

After 30 years of the Barcelona Process, the Institute will bring together experts, practitioners from civil society & the private sector, civil servants and academia, this interactive conference aims to discuss shared challenges, identify practical solutions, and strengthen partnerships across Europe and the MENA region that contribute to a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable future for both. 

Participants

The conference will gather around 150 participants from across Europe and the MENA region. 

Themes

The conference will revolve around issues of shared interest and concern for Europe and the MENA-region. In particular, the sessions will cover issues of EU-MENA-relations, AI and new technologies in peace and conflict, international humanitarian law, inclusive governance, and the green transition. The conference will also incorporate elements allowing for exchanges on intercultural dialogue. A detailed agenda and concepts for each session will be uploaded on this site.
