Consortium and SEEDS Launch "LAND-READY Green" Initiative to Strengthen Climate Adaptation and Land Restoration Governance in the Mediterranean

A regional consortium, including SEEDS and academic, technical, and civil society partners from Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Ireland, has announced the launch of "LAND-READY Green." This strategic framework is designed to address structural gaps in the governance of rural ecosystems across the Mediterranean in response to escalating climate pressures, such as prolonged droughts and land degradation. The initiative centers on three integrated pillars: institutional governance diagnostics, the establishment of demonstration sites for rural land restoration, and the development of regulatory frameworks that ensure the formal integration of youth into climate-related decision-making bodies. By utilizing an advanced digital platform to monitor institutional reform and environmental restoration, SEEDS and its partners provide a scalable model for broader regional contexts. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to catalyze a sustainable systemic transformation, moving beyond traditional project outputs toward the creation of a resilient institutional architecture capable of addressing the region’s evolving climatic challenges.
