URGE: Supporting Ukrainian Children Education

Thematic area: Youth and education

Language: English

Project developed between 2024-2026 in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain and Netherlands

The URGE project (Ukrainian Refugees’ Gateway for Education) is an Erasmus+ initiative in which IFESCOOP participates, together with partners from Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain, and the Netherlands. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme and runs from 2024 to 2026.

The initiative aims to support the integration of Ukrainian refugee children in primary education into national school systems across Europe. It focuses on strengthening linguistic, socio-emotional, and intercultural competences through the development of educational and informational tools. These resources are designed to improve language learning, facilitate cultural understanding, and support school adaptation and participation.

The background of the project is the displacement of Ukrainian children due to conflict, which has created urgent needs in education and psychosocial support. Its objective is to promote inclusion, well-being, and active participation in school life, while encouraging positive interaction with peers in host communities.
