VAF Opens New Cultural Space in Kufr Aqab

Thematic area: Arts

Language: English

Ongoing initiative - Kufr Aqab, Palestine

The Visual Arts Forum (VAF) has opened a new branch in the Old Town of Kufr Aqab, creating a cultural and educational space for children, youth, adults, and professional artists interested in visual arts and creative crafts.

Established in response to the limited access to cultural and artistic spaces in the area, the new branch serves a densely populated and underserved community where opportunities for structured creative engagement are scarce. It is now fully operational and offers workshops and courses in ceramics, pottery, sculpture, molds, drawing, painting, and other arts and crafts.

The space also functions as a creative hub for professional artists and is designed to host local and international residencies, artistic production, exchange, and community engagement. Activities and trainings are led by Palestinian-Turkish artist Evina, who supports the development of ceramics and creative learning programs.

The branch provides a welcoming environment that fosters learning, self-expression, confidence, and psychosocial wellbeing, while encouraging community participation across generations.

This initiative reflects VAF’s commitment to promoting the arts as a tool for expression, awareness, and community engagement, and to expanding access to creative opportunities that support skills development and social connectio
