Yoko Ono Exhibition in Türkiye - SSM

Thematic area: Arts

Language: English

25 June – 27 December 2026, Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum – Istanbul, Türkiye

Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM), a member of the ALF Türkiye Network, is hosting the most comprehensive Yoko Ono exhibition presented in Türkiye to date, with the support of Akbank and in cooperation with MUSAC in León, Spain. The exhibition brings together 67 works from more than seventy years of Ono's production, ranging from early instruction pieces and conceptual works to performance, film, installation and participatory works. Developed with the artist's Studio One, it is not a touring exhibition but the result of an institutional collaboration shaped by the spatial characteristics and curatorial approaches of both museums. After MUSAC presented it from 8 November 2025 to 17 May 2026, it opened at SSM on 25 June 2026. Taking its name from two concepts introduced by Ono in 1964, it extends across Galleries -2 and -3, the museum garden and the Book Arts and Calligraphy Collection gallery in the Atlı Köşk, inviting visitors to reflect on imagination, perception, participation, memory, peace and human connection. A Turkish–English catalogue accompanies the exhibition, which can be visited until 27 December 2026, every day except Mondays, between 10:00 and 18:00.
