Per Esempio ETS, an Italian civil society organisation based in Palermo and member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Network, participated in an international training activity held in Žilina, Slovakia in January 2026. The training, organised within the framework of the Erasmus+ Adult Education programme, focused on humour-based methodologies as innovative tools to address youth mental health challenges, particularly anxiety prevention.
The five-day seminar brought together youth workers, educators and project staff from different European countries to explore practical approaches such as clowning, stand-up comedy, creative expression and team-building exercises. The training combined experiential workshops with structured reflection sessions to ensure that humour is used ethically and intentionally in educational settings.
The activity was implemented within the broader project “Comic Relief,” aiming to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to promote wellbeing, social connection and emotional resilience among young people. The methodologies tested during the training will contribute to the development of a practical handbook designed to support educators and social workers across Europe.
