Zimam Launches RISE Project to Support Gazan Refugees in Cairo

Ramallah - Gaza: Since October 7, the war on the Gaza Strip has continued, forcing thousands of Palestinians to migrate and seek refuge in Egypt for safety. With the escalation of aggression lasting over eleven months, more than 120,000 Palestinians stranded in Egypt are facing significant challenges, as the closure of the Rafah crossing has worsened humanitarian conditions.

Many of these refugees have exceeded the legal duration of their tourist visas, preventing them from accessing essential healthcare and educational services.

In a step to enhance psychological and educational support for refugee children, Zimam, in collaboration with World Wide Orphans, has launched RISE - childcare project aimed at providing a safe environment for learning and play. The project accommodates dozens of children for four months, aiming to preserve aspects of their normal lives and empower them and their families until the end of the war.

This initiative is one of the largest efforts made in Egypt to support education for Palestinian children under the age of eight amidst the current circumstances.
