About AgorALF
From ALForum 2025 to AgorALF 2026: Keeping the momentum
ALForum 2025 was a defining milestone for the ALF, bringing together more than 800 participants and hosting 105 parallel and cultural sessions and 29 networking and artistic activities. Civil society actors, young leaders, cultural practitioners, artists, institutions, and networks came together, not only to listen, but above all to speak, create, challenge, and connect.
What became clear is that what was created at ALForum cannot and should not remain limited to one moment in time. The Forum provided a clear picture of the needs, questions, and potential of a people-centered, culture-driven Mediterranean space. It generated momentum, yes, but it also helped shape a broader conversation on the future of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation that resulted in reflections and recommendations, that some were later consolidated in ALF’s contribution to the Pact for the Mediterranean.
The ALForum was originally designed as a flagship milestone taking place every three years, marking the end of each ALF Programme Phase. What became clear is that what was created at ALForum cannot and should not remain limited to one moment in time.
Therefore, building on the success of ALForum 2025 and the high demand expressed, ALF is now introducing AgorALF as an annual forum, smaller in scale, yet generating the same impact, offering a space for dialogue, people-to-people connections and cultural expression across the region.
AgorALF will be held on 27 and 28 April 2026 in Limassol, Cyprus under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026. AgorALF will mobilise more than 400 participants committed to dialogue between cultures and civilizations from diverse backgrounds, together with key European partners such as Creative Europe Desks and the National Contact Points of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme, and the New European Bauhaus.
AgorALF 2026 is conceived to provide a structured dialogue space to contribute to the operationalization of the Pact for the Mediterranean with a bottom-up approach in its “People” pillar, mainly to put the people-to-people and the cultural dimension at the heart of Euro-Mediterranean relations, paying special attention to mobility, youth and culture.
Why Apply?
This call aims to bring together engaged intercultural dialogue professionals and other key actors from across the 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries who can meaningfully contribute to the AgorALF’s discussions, interactive spaces, and cultural moments to complement the diverse agenda.
The ALF Secretariat together with key institutional partners and active civil society actors has developed a rich and well-balanced agenda for AgorALF 2026. It brings together strong knowledge contributions, practical methodologies, and real case studies, complemented by interactive formats and inclusive cultural performances that reflect the depth and diversity of Euro-Mediterranean expertise and cooperation.
Due to the limited financial resources available, and in line with the Anna Lindh Foundation’s belief in shared responsibility, ALF approaches this call with a principle of co-responsibility, ensuring that the available support reaches those who need it most while encouraging broader engagement.
We therefore kindly ask applicants to consider what costs they or their organisations can realistically cover before requesting any financial support. This collaborative approach allows to extend the opportunity to a more diverse and inclusive range of participants across the region.
