FLAGSHIP PROGRAMMES
The SDGs Intelligence project is an innovative youth-focused initiative that aims to strengthen sustainability literacy and active citizenship by transforming the way young people engage with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the core of the project is the development of the SDGs Cards Box, a participatory educational tool designed to foster critical thinking, dialogue, and collaborative problem-solving. Rather than presenting sustainability as a set of predefined facts, the card-based resource encourages young people to actively explore complex global challenges and reflect on their role in creating sustainable futures.
The SDGs Cards Box contains more than 70 carefully designed cards covering all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Through ecological, social, and economic perspectives, participants are invited to discuss real-world issues, examine data-driven prompts, challenge assumptions, and develop their own ideas and solutions. The cards function as conversation starters, creating inclusive spaces for reflection, debate, and meaningful engagement. By emphasizing inquiry over instruction, the tool empowers young people to become active contributors to sustainability discussions rather than passive recipients of information.
To support effective implementation, the project also provides a comprehensive guide for youth workers, educators, and facilitators. The guide offers practical methodologies and recommendations for integrating the cards into diverse learning environments, including schools, youth centres, community spaces, and non-formal educational settings. Complementing the educational materials, the project organizes interactive local workshops where participants can test the tool, exchange perspectives, and translate sustainability concepts into concrete actions.
By combining innovative educational resources with experiential learning opportunities, SDGs Intelligence contributes to the development of informed, engaged, and empowered young citizens. The project promotes a deeper understanding of sustainable development while encouraging youth participation, intercultural dialogue, and community-driven action, ultimately supporting the broader goal of building more resilient and sustainable societies.
